The Kenow wildfire of 2017 started in Kenow Creek on August 30 before jumping into Waterton Lakes National Park at Cameron Lake and burning 80% of the trails and 38% of the park lands on September 11. Peaks visible to the west of the divide include King Edward (L), Starvation, Miskwasini, Kenow and Langemark (R).
