Hi,

It's been a while since I posted a trip report on this forum.

I'm not about to start though. Instead, I've uploaded a short clip on Youtube. :)

Enjoy!

Nice job, Ken, especially with the camera work and conveying that airy feel.

Great video! Looks like you went down a little soon, the easier descent route would have been a little further along the ridge.

Great video Ken. Better than a trip report.
Good closeups and pans made it easy to recognize many spots on the ridge. The handshake and quick movements on some closeups was dizzying but overall quite good for a little camera.

Marko is right - the easy way down is farther over to skiers left - easy scree versus slabs.

Thanks Bill.

Now that Youtube has gone HD, I thought I'd try putting up some video blogs as opposed to the typical photo based trip reports.

I'm using a new Canon HF200 camcorder which records 16:9 1720x1080 directly onto an SD card. It's definitely overkill for Youtube but at least it's small enough to shove in my front pocket.

I wish it had better optical/mechanical stabilization but I'm trying to limit my shots at 15x for now. I might get myself a monopod and a shotgun microphone with a windshield in the future but I wanted to gauge the reaction to video-based reports before I went any further.

If they turn out to be unpopular, I guess I could always try my hand at "other" type of videos or something. ;)

Thanks for the comments!

Marko, you're right about the descent. We would've missed the rock band if we started our descent about 200m further down the ridge.

We saw your entry in the register. It was the last one before ours. :)

Enjoyed the video. It was great to "re-live"
that ridge again. I can see how that missing
chock-stone would make a difference.
